Back on British soil

Wow, it's been almost a month since I left Méribel and returned to the UK, and yet so much has happened. It took me a while to adjust to life back here, more so than usual for some reason. Quickly re-winding back a few weeks, the journey home was a little interesting. Feel free to read all about it on my other blog, see www.aspiretoski.blogspot.com .It's been all systems go recently with my wife and I house hunting together here in Leamington Spa. Viewing properties has certainly been eye-opening, the choice is varied with the house values being eye watering. However it looks as though we've possibly found our dream home already. This all happened within the space of three weeks of returning back from the mountains. I'd rather not say much about it yet just in case it doesn't all go through.I've fully recovered from the physical demands of the winter season, to the point where a fitness program is back in full swing. Partly because my belly seems to have expanded a little on my return. Possibly due to the reacquaintance of English ales, fish and chips, curries and other naughty but nice treats. It's brilliant being back on my mountain bike, around the (flat) Warwickshire countryside. But also it's great slipping on my running shoes, to the point where I've got my first 10k event coming up this weekend. Harriet and I will be taking part in what is called the 'Castle to Castle 10k' on Sunday, starting from Warwick Castle and finishing at Kenilworth Castle. This is all good for the belly as long as I cut down on the 'naughty' food, but also of course for fitness during the summer.I'll be contacting Mike (the other half of mh2) soon to see how he has been getting on since he returned from Méribel. I'll be encouraging him to give an update on this blog over the summer.
