Hi everyone and welcome to the first April post from your favourite blogging Méribel ski instructor. April, my goodness, this has come around quickly. Helped along by stunning weather just like the UK. Speaking of which I was back in the UK for a few days last week, appreciating the sunshine. However I did manage to squeeze in a few mornings skiing in Méribel with Team Garmany either end of the week.

It was lovely to be back skiing with them again, even on their first day when it was real pea souper weather. It didn't matter too much because we spent the first morning skiing on the Mottaret nursery slopes helping Oscar and Sam regain their confidence after a year off skis.

Well done to them having the patience to get going again. Then it was all systems go with the mountain opening up to Sam (and later Kathryn) choosing which green and blue pistes both in Méribel and Courchevel. It was lovely seeing the two families having such a great ski holiday together, and enjoying some quality precious family time.

During last week, the French National Championships (Alpine racing event) took place here in Méribel. The races were held on the Méribel race stade (French for stadium) at Chaudanne. This race piste was where some of the events during the 1992 Winter Olympics took place, as well as 2023 the Ski World Championships.

Sadly I didn't get to see many events for different reasons, however I saw some racing on Saturday and Sunday, when I took my big camera. Needless to say it was amazing to watch some of these athletes ski, especially those who compete as the World's best skiers on the current World Cup circuit.

It was fun getting my big camera out again and having a play, something I shall be doing more in the next couple of weeks. There are still some visitors in resort, who are real diehard spring skiers. It looks as though the fine weather will continue for another week, and I plan to go for a few hikes and see if I can spot any four legged creatures with my camera. If you are regular readers of the blog post, you can probably guess what I'm talking. If not, I don't mean about cats and dogs. Right, that'll do for now, as ever don't forget to Live With Passion.
